Ocean Protocol Integration

Integration to Ocean so users can offer data on the marketplace.

Ethereum connection

Web.py is used in order to run a local node and enable transactions over Ocean. Flask-web3 is also employed to integrate incoming metadata with the ethereum network and also so facilitate block navigation and debugging.

Installation

pip install flask
pip install flask_web3
cd web3.py
virtualenv venv
. venv/bin/activate
pip install -e .[dev]

For further instructions on how it works refer to the original repo.

Infura

As a gateway to Ethereum, we use Infura's API, and credential are required in order to run the app. First register on their site and then:

cp src/secrets.py.sample scr/secrets.py

Editing generated files with your API token. Don't worry, this file is ignored by git.

TO-DO List

  • currently, we use the default config_dict as provided by Ocean's tutorials. However, we would like to use or support different Ethereum clients, marketplaces etc. Do it.
