Hide toolbar and navbar when scrolling

I am using a custom built class similar to SVWebViewController that has a poor attempt at replicating the way Safari hides the toolbar and shrinks the navigation bar (and vise versa) on swiping and flicking.

I would like to switch to SVWebViewController but would have to implement this first.

Has there been any work done already to in implementing this? Any thoughts on how it should be done?

To replicate Safari's navigation bar animation a custom navigation bar would have to be build. I guess for an easy win this should be avoided.
