There have been some requests on the Adobe Type blog asking for Cyrillic at least. This thread is to track interest for both Cyrillic and Greek.

Are you inviting +1's now? If so, +1 for Greek support.

Ha! I thought that there was a ‘roadmap’ feature on GitHub, but it seems that the issues tracker is usually used to indicate planned features, so I thought I would log an item to show that this is something that we are planning ... down the road. Speaking of +1’s, I wish there was just a counter with a button that would count both plusses and minuses so as to get a better indication of interest without having to spam everyone following the project with silly +1 emails.

Hello guys,
Any progress or plans on Cyrillic?

Progress is being made. Getting the Cyrillic proofed by Russian natives and incorporating their input into the design currently.

Hi Paul,
Do you need any alpha/beta testers for Cyrillic? If you do, I'd love to help :)

Hello,

I 'd really like to see Greek coming to Source Code Pro. My default font on all of my terminals and editors is Source Code Pro and as a Greek developer, spending more than 8 hours per day writing code, I would really like to see Greek support. I would be really happy if I could help you out with that, as far as I can.

Thanks and congratulations on that font. Excellent work.

The Greek and Cyrillic for Source Sans is all but done. However, it will take some time to adapt the proportional letter forms to Source Code. Hopefully I will be able to release the Source Sans fonts with Greek and Cyrillic soon and you can then preview the designs that will be adapted for SCP.

Just throwing in another +1 for Greek letters / math symbols, this would essentially make Source Code the be-all-end-all of monospace fonts for me.

@romanov if this free project doesn't move fast enough, run $ git clone https://github.com/adobe/source-code-pro.git and start contributing, i'm sure everyone else will appreciate your hard work 👍

Update: the Cyrillic [and Greek] glyphs have been drawn, but production work on the font files remains to be done. I currently have no ETD of when this work will be done.

Hi Paul,
Happy to hear that Cyrillic and Greek are underway,
and I can contribute by offering consultancy as a native cyrillic type designer.
I author this blog on Cyrillic: http://learncyrillic.tumblr.com

Here is a temporary workaround for emacs:

(set-default-font "Source Code Pro Medium-10")
(set-fontset-font "fontset-default" '(#x0400 . #x04ff) "Dejavu Sans Mono-10")

This way we use DejaVu Sans Mono for basic Cyrillic Unicode range and Source Code Pro for other symbols.

Thanks! Any work-around for Sublime Text 3? It would be great to use an alternate/similar font specifically for it's italics style

Dear everyone: the Greek and Cyrillic are forthcoming and will hopefully be ready within the next ~3 months. I think the rest of us would appreciate it if there were no more +1 comments on this thread. Thank you.

I think this is because of all the +1 spam, which continued even after the people were asked not to do it.

@pauldhunt

That is exactly the reason. I’m working on this as time permits. +1’s won't make it go faster.

hey @chesnokova that’s really great, but can you please rename the font so that it does not use the name ‘Source’? Thanks. I’ve deleted your post, but feel free to repost once you’ve changed the font name.

With the just-released version 2.010 of Source Sans, which supports Greek and Cyrillic in the upright styles, we're a step closer to having the same support in Source Code.
