This extension violates the Chrome Web Store policy.

2021-0819 RenameTab was removed from Chrome sometime in the past 24 hours. I used it yesterday with no problems. Today it has been disabled by Chrome. When looking for an update, I can no longer find it in the Chrome Web Store.

What is the real issue? Is it fixable?

Thank you for your interest in RenameTab and for reporting this, but I'm afraid I'm no longer able to maintain the extension.

It wasn't clear to me whether it is possible to continue to have this functionality with some of Chrome's new permission changes, but if anyone wants to try the code is open source and welcome to be forked.
