I saw there any possibility to ad PromptPay payment to Bisq? It's the fastest way to transfer money in Thailand.
I don't have the skill set needed for this.

Hi @CryptoRevolutio0! Although you might not have the skills for implementing the payment method integration yourself the first important step would be the investigation on this payment method and adding this information to this issue.

Important stuff to find out upfront:

  • How big is the chargeback risk? (How easy can someone revert a payment?)
  • How long does it take until the payment is settled?
  • What information/fields are required to make a payment?
  • How can an arbitrator confirm in case of a dispute that a payment was made? (Is there a web interface/website for PromptPay?)

You can a look at payment methods that are discussed right now for getting an idea how the discussion could look like (e.g. WeChat: #1354)

As soon as all these informations are clear and it looks like that PromptPay is a good fit with Bisq, maybe someone will take care of the implementation part.

Hi, I live in Thailand now, how can I help with PromptPay integration?
Regarding the questions asked, here are what I know so far:

  • Chargeback risk isn't really clear, but according to this article it's likelihood is quite small: "PromptPay payments can not easily be reversed. Only in cases of crime, and bank error will you see funds reversed. The “get paid, stay paid” use case of PromptPay beats out any payment processor or company e-wallet."
  • The payment is settled immediately. In fact, it's a kind of an instance bank-to-bank transfer.
  • A user should either fill one of the following – mobile phone number / citizen ID / Tax ID of the recipient, either she could scan the provided QR code (here is an open source library.) In the latter case the payment amount might be encoded in the QR code (though not required).
  • Transactions are shown in banking apps as regular banking transactions and thus bank statements might be used in case of a dispute. I don't know about any website that can be used to check the validity of the transfer.
