I'm using electron-builder(23.6.0).
Apple signing process failed with a message:
Error: Command failed: codesign ...
bundle format unrecognized, invalid, or unsuitable

It is unclear what would cause this based on the available information. I'm guessing this might be related to #144 though, can you see if the extracted package has symlinks intact?
