Is this project still maintained?

The title says it all. I'm asking this with all due respect to the hard work and efforts of all the contributors.
I have a few ideas of improvements for this library but before investing any more time into it, I would like to be assured of the status and future of this project.

@crewjam I'd like to make some improvements as well but seeing several unmerged PRs and want to make sure folks with write access are available to review, approve and merge. Are you still open to accepting contributions here?
