[APM] Meta issue: Performance as a feature

For 7.12 we are aiming to fix as many low hanging peformance issues as possible.

• Round time range boundaries [APM] Round up lower bound of time range #84530
• Replace top_hits agg with top_metrics agg ([APM] Replace top_hits with top_metrics aggregation #90910)
• Remove UI filters ([APM] Remove ui filters #84526)
• Cancel requests that are no longer needed (possibly related: [APM] Migrate to new Elasticsearch client #83913)
• Consider using stats agg instead of sum and avg
• Remove value_count aggregations if APM Server implements _doc_count ([APM] Remove value_count aggregations #89096)
  • Use _doc_count data type when indexing histograms  apm-server#4474
  • consider migration of existing data
• Scope all queries with a range query if possible ([APM] Look into searches lacking a range query #85385)

General things we need:

• Benchmark framework (rally?)
• realistic benchmark data (dpp inspired)
