EVP_CipherInit_ex failed - 2.4.0 on ARCH

My backup stopped working after update of ARCH linux. The error reported is:

I use burp 2.4.0 installed through AUR (https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/burp-backup). I have even re-installed (re-compiled) it after the system update, but the error is still here.

Is there a workaround to avoid the issue?

An update: the "unstable" burp-backup-dev 3.1.4-1 (https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/burp-backup-dev) seems to work.
It would be nice to fix the stable branch, though.
