For a person who is new to Jekyll and Ruby, It is not easy to use this theme in Jekyll project.
For example :

Is this theme a gem on rubygems.org. If yes, how to find it?
If this is not a gem, then what are the step by step instructions to use it in Jekyll project
What if I want to use this theme on Github pages ?

Read me file is best place to have these instructions.
