Any plans to host these archetypes in github it self as a update site ?

I'm not a fan of hosting binaries in a git repository, that's not its purpose. Github packages would be nice if they supported anonymous access, and github releases just don't support nested directories, so are incompatible with a maven layout.

I haven't updated the archetypes themselves in a while, I don't have any immediate plans to do so, so the status quo is fine by me.

If you want to provide a proper solution, I'm open to it though.

How about in eclipse p2 repositories? May be the jdt.ls parts could be moved to eclipse github org ?
