Some 2019 Frame TVs hang while uploading #2
Comments
Looks like I’m hitting this. No error message and no permission prompt on the TV. May be related to: xchwarze/samsung-tv-ws-api#106 |
Thanks! This is good to know; I think I have a 2019 Frame I can try this on, I'll try it and report back. Appreciate the link to that issue! |
Hello @ow , Just wanted to note that my 2020 65" Frame TV was working well with this script until recently. It is hanging at 'Uploading' and doesn't throw any error or ask for permissions etc on the TV. It also appears to be intermittent. Other times, it just works fine, and other times, I get a 'There was an error' message: ERROR:root:There was an error: {'data': {'attributes': {'name': 'W0hvbWUgQXNzaXN0YW50XSBUaGUgRnJhbWUgVFY='}, 'connectTime': 1698367307821, 'deviceName': 'W0hvbWUgQXNzaXN0YW50XSBUaGUgRnJhbWUgVFY=', 'id': '31f587e-fe79-4419-a33-5e761a8b5a4d', 'isHost': False}, 'event': 'ms.channel.clientConnect'} I haven't done any firmware update that I know of. Debug mode shows successful connection to the TV. |
I suggest people post their current firmware in any issues. FWIW: I have seen recent posts online that their TV updated, even when auto update was disabled. |
Note for myself or someone with time to look at: I've had one or two people with the 2019 model of Frame TV report that the script doesn't upload successfully. It's unclear why, but sometimes it may be due to missing the permissions pop up and being unable to re-trigger it. Despite it hanging, debug mode seems to work just fine.
When I have some time, I'll see if I can find a way to fix this.
