I oppose any archiving or transferring of this repo, in that I am supposed to be the maintainer, I am currently using this project, I would like to fix issues that come up in this project, and I would like to maintain existing references to this project.

please explain if these reasons are somehow insufficient, and why it is that you want to archive or transfer this issue.

For some larger context, this discussion began because I'm trying to close or determine what the next actions are for currently-open PRs across various PureScript repositories. Since it seemed like this repo hasn't had much activity for a while, it was my understanding that no one was maintaining this project anymore. So, following the suggestion that Phil made, I thought archiving or transferring it seemed most reasonable.

However, if you are maintaining this project, then that changes things. I think your reasons are sufficient for not archiving or transferring this repo.

so have we agreed that you will leave this project alone? if so, can we close this issue and move on?

we can add "maintained by @justinwoo" to the README if need be. people can ask me questions about this project anytime.

When a project is transferred or moved in GitHub it sets up redirects from the old location(s) to the new ones, if that has any impact on your thoughts about moving it. I don't particularly mind either way, but I think if we're not going to move it out of the main org then the README should reflect that this isn't the recommended tool, to avoid confusing newcomers who might stumble over it.

The reason we want to transfer it is that the repo being under the purescript org implies that the repository is officially supported and maintained by the core team, and neither of these are the case for psc-package. Since none of the core team have any interest in helping to maintain psc-package, I think it is reasonable for us to want to move it out of the org.

Direct links to release contents are exactly what I would want to preserve.

In that case, perhaps we could archive this repo and let you fork it to your personal GitHub account? That ought to preserve existing references and give you a way to continue working on it, while avoiding giving an inaccurate impression of the level of support this tool receives. The other reason this came up is that we would like to be able to keep an eye on all issues and PRs across the purescript org and this is harder to do when there’s stuff in there that the core team is not responsible for.
