What do you think of grouping these fonts in a Font Book collection? That would allow people to scope their fonts in design applications to freely available Google fonts.

Hmm, that seems non-trivial. AFAIK Collections are handled through a Font Book plist.

Update 2017-08-04 1703: I can confirm collections are binary plists (can be converted though to readable plists through plutil). Location is ~/Library/FontCollections/

@adeluccar Can they be converted back to binary plists, for the sake of creating a plist with the installed fonts?

@qrpike Yes. Can be converted back and forth through plutil.

@qrpike Can you please explain how can I convert all the google fonts I have installed using the plutil that you've mentioned?
