hiredis async with libev - reconnect issues

I am currently working on a thing that if a connection with redis server breaks then i have to write a code such that when the server is available then it automatically reconnects using callback functions.
The main issue is when a connection fails; the connect callback is called with REDIS_ERR. As there is no way to re-use the existing context (would it be hard to implement a redisAsyncRetry(context) function?)
can anyone please help me
