Problem with katoolin3

After installing the tools and kali-menu
i got an error when i want to update & upgrade my system:
gnome-shell-common package has been kept back
and when i want to install it
it tells me that it will remove the following packages:
chrome-gnome-shell gdm3 gnome-shell gnome-shell-extension-appindicator gnome-shell-extension-desktop-icons gnome-shell-extension-ubuntu-dock ubuntu-desktop
ubuntu-desktop-minimal ubuntu-session

if i ignored and continued the system will lose the GUI and i can't bring it back to live
and it also breaks the packages and i will not be able to install them again

please help?
