escape character for colons

letters = ["a", "b", "c", "d"]
print(letters[{{c1:: ::2}}])  # return every other item
print(letters[{{c1:: ::-1 }}])  # return the list in reverse order

In my python cards, the following two text inputs do not work. Is there a way to escape the :: when writing the cards?
