When I merge a number of M4A files, the "Chapter Name" tag of each chapter is taken from the "Title" tag in each M4A file. As expected.

But I have found a problem with the "Track No" tag of each chapter:

  • If the M4A files have a null "Track Number" tag, then the "Track No" tag of each chapter in the M4B is populated as 01, 02, 03, etc. As expected.
  • If the M4A files have a non-null "Track Number" tag (e.g. 01, 02, 03, ...), then the "Track No" tag of EVERY chapter in the M4B is populated as 01. Not as expected.

M4A tags populated using MP3Tag. M4B chapter tags scanned using Foobar2000.

Hi,
I really tried... but I don't understand what do you mean by "Track Number" tag in context of using it in names of chapters.
Most likely you are talking about "Chapter No" - this check box automatic numeration of all possible chapters - useful in default scenario where there is no prolog, etc. In complex scenarios, manual naming of chapters might be needed.

Actual "Track Number" tag from source file is not even available in naming of chapter, if there is a reason to add it - please create separate bug, I just don't understand details of this issue.
