To allow HIPS sites to configure new reference data in the database without needing to recompile the application DLL files, HIPS 7.2 adopted a design that includes changing the enum types to strings in the generated web service contracts. This has initially been applied to the service R40 create verified IHI as this is new functionality for HIPS 7.2. Future versions of HIPS may extend this approach to the other HI services that HIPS invokes: R3 consumer search IHI, R50 provider search for provider individual and R51 provider batch async search for provider individual.
