[Bug] GUI not responding properly

Describe the bug

Using main branch with latest commit d7b13e0 GUI is not responding properly.

For example, "Quit GRASS GIS" does not close the application; existing layers are not rendered.
The command "exit" from the command line works as usual.

To reproduce

1. start GRASS
2. from the GUI choose "Ctrl+Q" or "File -> Quit GRASS GIS"
3. choosing "display layer" on a layer in an open location does not show layer

Expected behavior

2. GRASS should close, but it doesn't.
3. GRASS GUI should display layer, but layer is not shown

This issue was not present in main branch compiled on 2024-07-13

I can confirm this, I just recompiled main and GUI does not respond. It is impossible to display layers, for example, neither with double click nor via the contextual menu, and closing GRASS from GUI does not work either.

It was working just fine unless untill July 11th version, when I reported #4076.
