I mentioned before to restore the v1 JP glyph to replace the CN glyph for 叼 (U+53FC), but now I realised the v1 JP looks too low compared to the rest of the Chinese characters.

I mean the CN glyph is a bit higher but the angle of the last pickup stroke (提) is too steep.

So basically if it's decided to restore the JP glyph to replace the CN glyph (or adjust the CN glyph), it has to be adjusted to my mockup (also note the angle of the last pickup stroke (提) is also adjusted to make it compatible across different regions):

And below is my edit in Glyphs along with the square guides (the character bounding box is in faint light brown, I added a few red guides myself) in case it's needed. The adjustment may not need to completely match my mockup but roughly it can be used as a guide.

EDIT: Also applies to Serif. I believe the JP glyph (as the only glyph in v1 and v2) is being used for CN/TW/HK, thus the discrepancy in the angle of the last pickup stroke between Sans and Serif. Therefore I suggest to increase the angle a bit, in pink is the suggested angle of the last pickup stroke, while the outer right component needs to be raised slightly.

EDIT 2: Updated extralight master outline reference and mockup image.

OK, I found other characters for 刁 which may need to be adjusted to work across different regions. I prefer that the last pickup stroke's angle is somewhere in between the current JP and CN angles, which is similar to Serif's 刁 (U+5201).

Red - Remove the CN glyph for 刁 (U+5201) and use the JP glyph (which will be adjusted as well)

Yellow - Adjust the JP glyph by increasing the angle of the last pickup stroke.
Affected characters: 刁 (U+5201, Sans only), 叼 (U+53FC, Serif only)

Orange - Adjust the CN glyph by decreasing the angle of the last pickup stroke.
Affected characters (Sans only): 叼 (U+53FC, which should restore the JP glyph first before adjusting as mentioned in the first post) and 汈 (U+6C48)

Cyan - The glyphs look okay, but I prefer that the angle of the last pickup stroke be decreased slightly to match with my mockup in the first post, or Serif's 刁 (U+5201).
Affected characters: 䒒 (U+4492, both Sans and Serif), 汈 (U+6C48, Serif only)

So please make the angle of the pickup strokes consistent.
