CarPi Project

The CarPi Project is a piece of software, that was started to turn the Raspberry Pi into a device that can read from the OBD-II Port in current vehicles.

Hardware

The following hardware was used to develop the project:

  • Raspberry Pi version B
  • USB-2-RS232 OBD-2 Dongle with an STN1101 chip (ELM327 alternative)
  • Cooking-Hacks 3G + GPS Module

Requirements

  • c++11 compatible compiler, tested with gcc-4.7.2
  • boost v1.5.4
