I had this issue last night and have seen a couple of others mention it on Reddit. Is this a known issue? Is there a fix? Worth noting it can vary even with the same game, for example there were 2 saves available for Lego Avengers, one worked and the other black screened/resulted in a GPU crash which shut off the console. Vita 2000 model, 3.65 modded.

If you are referring to actually loading a Vita save from the Online DB in a game, keep in mind those saves are not tested and could be just invalid or broken. So the game could crash when loading a broken or bad save data.

But if you say that Apollo crashes while downloading/unpacking a save from the Online DB, then provide all the details to the exact file that you tried to download and got a crash. A good way is to use click "Settings" > "enable debug logs", then go and do the steps to find and download a save, see if it crashes. Then go to ux0:/data/apollo/apollo.log and share that log file.

Yes it’s when you actually download the save on Apollo. It was the second save file for Lego Avengers. There is only 1 version being the EU one and the save is described as “100% most characters unlocked”. I cannot confirm which games/saves the other users on reddit had issues with.

Well I have just tried myself, and downloaded both Lego Avengers saves (PCSB00764) without any issues.
One save is actually an encrypted raw dump and is not meant for Apollo, but that's the only thing I saw, nothing special and everything was extracted ok.

I tested on my 3.65(enso) Fat model, so I don't know if it could be something related to the 2000 model, or probably some other loaded custom plugins could be doing something funky to the app, that could end up in a crash.
I suggest to try again, go to Online db and try to download both Lego saves again, see if you can reproduce the crash consistently. If that's the case, then try unloading plugins, and see if that makes any difference.

For example, there's a report that kubridge and fdfix plugins are not compatible with Apollo ( #20 ) so it's possible that some other plugin also affects the app.

Interesting, I’ll have to have a look, I do have those plugins. However, worth mentioning I tried downloading said save file a few times, then deleted it because I thought I had done it wrong. Only after a few tries did it start giving me this error, first few times no error with those plugins active. I am happy to try again however does crashing the GPU cause long term issues? Or is it just while I am attempting to download the save file? I don’t want to do any lasting damage. Thank you :)

It's only a user-level app crash. Apollo is not doing anything on a low level (like for example Enso exploit), so it can't do any damage. If wanted, you can do a quick reboot just to start fresh, and re-download a save again.
