Looking for Maintainers

Unfourtunately I'm unable to maintain this project right now - but I'd hate to see it die.

Please reach out to me via email (listed on profile) if you are interested in helping maintain the project. I'm hoping that I'm able to start maintaining the project again later in the year regardless.

hi @davidcole1340 thank you for creating this project, it has really helped me a lot. I noticed that you have been busy lately and haven't had much time to work on this project. Losing you is a significant setback for the project, but we can't let it stop updating. so I just want to ask if there is a confirmed candidate for Maintainer? cc: @joehoyle

@davidcole1340 / @danog / @ptondereau – are you still looking for some help? I'm currently using the crate for my PXP project and I'm keen to get some features merged and focus on performance and papercuts...

I think this can be closed, I'm the new maintainer, and I will very gladly merge PRs.

Haven't been too active on the issues side, but will gladly review&merge PRs; I am also planning a large overhaul of the project soon, if everything goes to plan :)

@danog Describe "overhaul" – will it be the public API, internals, etc? Maybe a discussion would be easier?

Wrong term, it will mainly be ZTS support and performance improvements, not a full rewrite of the API :)

Either way, I will make major releases as needed, given that I'm practically the only active maintainer here.
Of course, I'll leave PRs open for a bit to get some feedback before merging.

ZTS support would be huge, something I was looking to work on so that I can use extensions from FrankenPHP!

I'll get to it probably in Q4 2024 (or sooner if I get a sponsorship for this :)
