What does the ELN SIG need to do?

  • Run repository closure test on Fedora ELN staging composes

The request comes after a failure trying to install a package:

# LC_ALL=C dnf install virt-manager --nobest
Last metadata expiration check: 0:07:09 ago on Fri Sep 8 08:41:08 2023.
Error:
 Problem: conflicting requests
  - nothing provides spice-gtk3 needed by virt-manager-4.1.0-3.eln128.noarch from eln-appstream

Repository closure on staging compose would have exposed the issue allowing to fix it before landing on production composes.

Repoclosure has never passed for ELN, which is why we have it set to be non-blocking. Admittedly, it's been a long time since we looked into why, so I suppose we should give it another peek.

@sgallagher Can you point me to the sources of the test and where it's running? Maybe I can help with that.

Run repoclosure test on Fedora ELN repositories every week.

If a failure occurs, an issue is opened in GitHub asking to check.

If an issue exists and the repository closure passes, the issue is
closed.

Requires a GitHub token to be added as secret to the repository.
