Unexpected behavior in integration test when using chan

I am experimenting with a Building the controller with a WatchesRawSource for an Event chan.

Events = make(chan event.GenericEvent)

}

This works! I have a http listener on a goroutine that places events in the Event chan bases on webhooks coming in.

But I'd like to write an integration test for it. Integration test looks as follows:

However, during the integration test with envtest, pushing an event in the Event chan doesn't do anything. Could someone explain to me why it doesn't work? It seems like communication on the Event chan is blocked during the runtime of the integration test.

I would be happy to share the package versions that I am using but since its such a long list, I hoped I could do that on demand.

Closed because it was an issue on my side, the integration test works now.
