About moving the calendar display area to a separate block:
Since this is a significant change in the positioning of information on the page, the only acceptable option for such a change is to implement it as a customizable option. The user or administrator, globally or personally, should be able to select the current display option or the one you offer. The default should be the current option, as an alternative, yours.

That's the only option I'm willing to consider for your PR.

I completely agree that it would be appropriate to add a configuration to allow both display modes. I think it's important to provide the option for this display since the calendar information is secondary to the Summary and Description, which might not be visible on sufficiently large screens (see the last screenshot). At the moment, I can't contribute further, but I hope someone continues my work. Thank you for your time.
