Photoshop

Installing

Move MOOMaskedIconView/Editor\ Support/Photoshop/CGPDFIcon.joboptions to ~/Library/Application\ Support/Adobe/Adobe\ PDF/Settings. Whew!

Exporting

###First: File -> Save As…

Choose "Photoshop PDF" from the "Format" drop down. Deselect "Embed Color Profile" and optionally select "[Save] As a Copy".

Save As… dialog. Deselect "Embed Color Profile" and optionally select "[Save] As a Copy"

###Then: Choose the export preset

A PDF-specific dialog pops up. Pick the CGPDFIcon preset from the top.

Save PDF dialog. Choose the CGPDFIcon preset

Finally: Shrink it

Run the exported PDF through a PDF compressor such as Panic's ShrinkIt. Photoshop includes tons of extraneous metadata, so shrinking usually results in 10–20% of the file's original size.

Troubleshooting

ShinkIt.app crops the exported PDF

If the icon was cropped very tightly with "Image -> Trim…", occasionally Photoshop will export a PDF that Quartz inadvertently crops. The solution is to add 1px of padding surrounding the icon. In Photoshop, click "Image -> Canvas Size" and enter the following:

Expand image width by 2px and height by 2px. Be sure to check "Relative"
