Hello, my name is Chris, and I started KegCop in 2012, and have been actively developing the software since then. What is KegCop, you might ask? Well KegCop is an iOS app that monitors your kegerator having the drinkers of the kegerator create an account in order to pour beer. KegCop works off of a credit system where to root user gives out credits to the users of the kegerator.
KegCop may not be the first kegerator monitoring system on the block, but aims to be one of the best and easiest to setup. Some of the other guys require a server be setup on your LAN, whereas KegCop just requires a iOS device, and a Bluno microcontroller attached your kegerator.
That’s all fine and dandy, but what’s in the future for KegCop? Well, adding functionality so one can monitor how much beer is left in their kegerator is high on the priority list. Also being able to calibrate how much beer / fluid comes out per pour is also high on the list. Lastly, everyone has a mobile device in their hands now, so why not bring the kegerator to you? There are plans to build a web frontend for KegCop so you will be able access your kegerator through any web browser, and pour a beer, all the while not having to worry about the hassle of setting up a server, as your iOS device will be taking care of that.
