KegCop meets Kegbot.org

(Wilson demos KegCop)

Below is the script for this YouTube video 📹

Hi, my name is Wilson, and I’m going to demonstrate my kegbot using KegCop.

First, let me cover all the hardware that makes up a kegbot.

I have BLuno microcontroller wired to an Alcon solenoid cut off valve and a Swiss flow meter.

Then the Bluno talks to an iPod Touch running the KegCop software.

The idea behind KegCop is that an admin user administers credits to the users of the kegerator, and then the users are able to pour beer, through a touch interface.

Today we have a keg of Rahr Texas Red on tap, and I’m going to show you how KegCop works.

Now the sketch / program that runs on the BLuno has two methods to stop the flow of beer:

One, if users pours a full 12 oz glass of beer the the solenoid will return to its off state.

Two, if the user doesn’t pour a full beer within 30, seconds the solenoid will return to its off state.

If I don’t have any activity with KegCop for 60 seconds while I am logged in, it will automatically log me out due to inactivity.

To conclude, if you are interested in running the KegCop software on your Kegbot check out the following link If you’re intrigued by this project and want to contribute to the open source of KegCop, check out the following link <Wilson hold hand flat. Thanks for watching, and happy drinking.
