Burn firmware

There are two methods to burn firmware

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for burn firmware to mt7628/88 board

Upgrade to use web UI

Requirements

  1. Module: a mt7628/88 board
  1. pwer adapter: 5-12v you can powerd on with adapter or micr-usb cable.

Let's get started to burn firmware

  1. download firmware

  2. Power On. A few minutes later you will find the wireless "WisCore_xxxxxx" or "WisAP_xxxxxx", then connect it;

    Such as "WisCore_EE000C" or "WisAp_EE000C"

  3. After connected ,input ip address to enter LinkSmart website

    http://192.168.230.1

  4. Set password at least 6 characters and login

    Input password,click "SUBMIT"

    Re-enter password, click "SIGN IN"

  5. Upgrade

  • LinkSmart Web

    click "UPGRADE FIRMWARE"

    choose firmware,click "UPGRADE & RESTART"

    then,transfer firmware

  1. Finally some minutes later, the module will restart at "Apoint mode", and you can see the blue led flash 3 - 4 times a minute

Upgrade to use Tftpd Tool

Requirements

  1. Module: a mt7628/88 board
  1. USB Cable line: micro-usb cable for WisBoard power and debug.
  2. Network cable: internet connection with computer and mt7628/88 module.
  3. tftpd32: tftp server to transfer firmware with mt7628/88 module - To download the tftpd32 tool
  4. Putty: terminal tool for users to communicate with module - To download the Putty tool
  5. pwer adapter: 5-12v you can powerd on with adapter or micr-usb cable.

Let's get started to burn firmware

Update firmware through tftp ,so you need connect your 'PC' and module with net-cable, and set the jumper to enter debug mode - To download the lastest release firmware

  1. Download the tftpd tool and terminal tool( such as SecureCRT or Putty...)

  2. Setting the jumpers short ( C_RX---TX0 , C_TX---RX0 ) (debug function)

  1. Connect WisProduct to your PC via USB and you need to install USB-COM driver if the PC remind you. Assume you already installed. you can check "Device Manager" for COM port. Here my WisCore COM port is COM6.

  1. Open the Putty and select Serial under Connection type. In the Serial line field, enter the COM port for your WisProduct . In the Speed field, type 57600.

  • then click "Open", When you see a blank screen, press the Enter key.
  1. Connect lan port to your PC with cable and you need to set the static ipaddr of PC to "192.168.16.123"

  2. Open tftpd, Copy firmware to your tftpd "Current Directory"(such as D:\ubuntu-share), and start the tftpd as Tftp Server. The Server interfaces(192.168.16.123) is your PC’s ip.

  1. Power on or type command reboot and press the Enter key to reboot WisProduct, you will see the following message.
  • select "2" to load firmware through tftp tool
  • input "y" to enter burn mode
  • press "Enter" ,The device ip is WisProduct’s ip and server ip is your PC’s ip
  • input "firmware name",the same to your firmware in /tftpd/
  • Each step only input once

  • Then press Enter If it display:T T T T T T T, the network is poor

  • If it display #####,it’s right .please keep this status and it will enter system

  • Finally wait some seconds you will see the wireless ssid “WisProduct_xxxxxx”
