Hiring Process

Step #0: Job application. The current list of opened positions is always available on our job site. Just choose the position that's right for you and fill out the application.

Step #1: Interviews. You'll need to interview with someone from the team, and probably do a programming challenge at home.

Step #2: Trial period. Everyone does it, most of the time for two months. We're flexible about how we organize this period, and we try to offer you an option that'll be convenient for your current situation:

  • If you're ready to start working full-time, then you'll start at a full salary immediately;
  • You can also choose to work part time through the trial period, and switch to full-time when the trial period's over.

Offer and Getting Started

  1. After you've successfully completed all your interviews, we'll give you a job offer, and negotiate about salary and the conditions of your trial period. For part-time workers, we'll try to work out the payment structure that's most convenient for you. We try to meet your wishes, don't hesitate to express them.

  2. The conditions are sent by e-mail, a copy of which will be sent to you and our accounting department. HR or accounting will contact you about processing the documents. We ask that you send the original by mail.

  3. You'll need to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) to access the company's private resources. If you read the NDA and agree to it, we'll give you access even before before your signed documents have arrived in the mail.

  4. You'll have access to our private repositories on Github, the Slack chat, and the @ivelum.com mailbox. Get to know your colleagues and discuss your first assignment. Welcome! :)

First Task

For your first task we try to find something that is:

  • Useful. It will be an assignment for a real project, and it will really benefit people;
  • Non-urgent. It takes time to get acquainted with a new project, and that's normal. We will try to make sure that you have enough time to get into all the details;
  • New. The trial period is just for us to try to work with each other and try to understand how comfortable we'll be working together. For us, regardless of their position or the nature of their work, a key employee characteristic is the ability to adapt to new situations and learn new things by themselves. We will try to make sure that the first assignment gives you this opportunity.
